January 2026 Meeting

We kicked off the new year with momentum, seeing an excellent turnout of 22 members at our January gathering. It was fantastic to see so many faces and we also welcomed back one old member. The attendance created a great atmosphere, proving that the enthusiasm for aviation and simulation in Bristol is stronger than ever.

A highlight of the session was the debut of our brand-new BFSG Club PC. This high-performance machine was made possible through the generous funding provided by the John James Foundation, Bristol, and we are immensely grateful for their support in upgrading our capabilities. Members put the new rig through its paces with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, 2024, and X-Plane 12. The visual fidelity and smooth performance left everyone impressed and inspired for future club projects. Some members took the opportunity to test their flying skills by attempting BFSG’s own custom landing challenge. Usually reserved for our public open days, the challenge provided some friendly competition!
